Working with civil society organizations and government in Moldova, FHI 360 played a critical role in the passage of watershed regulations enabling civil society organizations to bid on and receive government contracts for public services, thereby improving the policy environment for the country’s civil society sector. The government recently awarded the first such social service contract in its history. The recipient, a local nonprofit, now operates a national child helpline where callers can report domestic violence, child homelessness and other abuses.
